Kim

It is my understanding that DRC has had 4+ meetings with the LDS church regarding the Family Search project.  Would it be possible for me to know the dates and times you have met?  How from DRC and the Church were at the meetings? How long the meetings lasted?  What was discussed at the meetings?  What proposed recommendations were made by DRC? Where the project approval from DRC stands today?

What is the City planning in regards the required infrastructure changes to our city streets mentioned numerous times by those who work for the city and those who work for the church to mitigate the travel snarl this project will create? The church initiated a traffic study and indicated that the traffic in and around the Thanksgiving Point is currently at an "F" level.  What is the city planning to do to make sure the citizens of Lehi are not further damaged by the increased traffic on our residential streets and arterials?

Big question:  Beesmark and the LDS Church have contractually committed in the Special Warranty Deed to build a family search and discovery center on the building located on the southern border of the property.

What is the city doing to make sure that the LDS Church lives up to this contractual commitment they made with Beesmark?  It may appear OK today, but what if in the future a lawsuit from one party to the other goes forward, can you assure me and all citizens of Lehi that the city will not be dragged into this lawsuit?  The city knows the LDS Church is in violation of there contractual agreement.  If the city allows development as proposed, they would then be aiding the LDS Church in breaking that contractual commitment.  As a citizen of Lehi, I warn you that allowing the city must not be complicit in a transaction where they know one party is breaking a contractual commitment with another party and allow development to move forward with the potential of a future lawsuit. The LDS Church according to their contractual commitment with Beesmark LLC, CANNOT build a LDS Stake Center on the southern border of the property.

What is the city doing to make sure an LDS Stake Center is NOT build on the southern border of the property? Only a family search and discovery center can be built on the southern border of the property.

The city and its administration are not the right arm of the LDS Church.  You have a duty and responsibility to protect the citizens from unscrupulous developers who say they are going to build one thing and build something entirely different than what they contractually obligated themselves to build.  Kim, would you allow me to build a shopping mall (a permitted use) on a piece of property where I contractually committed in a special warranty deed I signed with the previous owner to build a day care facility? Remember, this was a permitted use, you knew I contractually obligated myself to build a day care facility and I decided to build a shopping mall instead.  Is the city going to allow this project to go through?  This is an important question, please answer. Please answer all my questions.

Recently a land development project (Holiday Inn) has been in the news.  It appears this project (a permitted use) went before the city council, not once but twice.  Will the family search project go before the Lehi City Council, if not, why not?

Thanks Kim, please provide me with an email response or a follow up phone call or preferred, I would like to schedule a meeting to come and visit with you.

Thanks
Bill Conley
