Sad reality, the traffic in Lehi is horrible, December 14th, gridlock in the city

Traffic in and around the City of Lehi is absolutely horrible today.  Today was our first snow storm and the arterials are gridlock.  Traffic on the freeway is at a standstill and traffic from the arterials trying to get on to the city has created a nightmare for travelers.

I just finished a workout at the Lehi Legacy center.  My commute back to my house typically takes around 8 minutes.  Today, it took an hour.  Traffic was backed up on State Street, so I turned around and went down 1500 hoping to turn on 2300.  Wrong move.  The traffic was backed up on 1500 waiting to turn onto 2300.  When I did get to turn on 2300 (near the elementary school), I had to wait for light after light on 2100 heading east.  There is a traffic light on 2100 going east, then around 250 feet and another on 2100 heading west.  There is room for around 10 cars between these two stop lights.  Traffic coming from 2100 E wanting to turn at 2300 heading towards Thanksgiving Point was backed up for a mile or more.  Each time the light would turn green for traffic heading on 2100 east wanting to turn, 10 + cars would turn and be stopped at the traffic light on 2100 heading west.  So where I was sitting on 2300 heading towards Thanksgiving Point was at a dead standstill.  I just watched as traffic from 2100 waiting to turn towards Thanksgiving Point kept clogging up the street between the two traffic lights.

Traffic in and around Thanksgiving Point is gridlock.  Traffic today is way beyond an F. Wait till more developments take place in the Thanksgiving Point area.

Adding another stop light at the intersection of 2300 and 2150 W is a horrible idea.  We will then have 3 traffic lights within 500 feet. This will make the traffic flow much worse, especially on days like this, one reason being, the traffic lights are not timed properly.

The traffic on 2300 heading towards Thanksgiving Point was backed up for miles.

We cannot have another stoplight on the intersection of 2300 and 2150 W, this is not wise and on days like today, it will only back traffic up even further than it was today.

The city of Lehi needs to be aware that on snow days, the health, safety and welfare of its citizens is at risk, as it is virtually every day in the Thanksgiving Point area at peak traffic times.
