No grading permit, no problem for the LDS Church on the Famil Search site at Thanksgiving Point

Who needs a grading permit?  The LDS Church does not need a grading  permit so says Ryan Wood, Lehi City Attorney for the Family Search project at Thanksgiving Point.

I say you do! Lehi City Code Chapter 12-b says that you do.

So how far can the LDS Church go without a grading permit?  Can the LDS Church go to the point of pouring footings and foundation without first getting a grading and  building permit?  Can they put in water, sewer, power, fire hydrants, pull cable and other wires etc. before the get a grading or building permit.

No permit, no problem for the LDS Church.

Ryan Woods said all they need is site plan approval from the planning commission before the begin construction, really?

Sure seems like they have begun construction.  How does Ryan and the City let the developer grade and prep the site for building without a single permit?

Here are some pictures of what is going on at the Family Search Plat right now.

There sure is a lot of site work being done without a permit and while an appeal of the planning commission site plan approval is still pending.

No permit, no problem for the LDS Church. The LDS Church has shown time and time again that the laws of the land do not pertain to them. The laws of the land were meant to be broken and that there word counts for nothing. That they are above the law and can do whatever they want.
