We are #1, we are #1, hooray for us, Lehi is #1 and #2 when it comes to the intersections with the most car crashes in Utah County

Top 15 intersections with the most crashes in Utah County

Automobile crashes happen to everyone. And if you're one of the lucky few who can say, "I've never been in a crash before," then knock on wood.
A new site dedicated to mapping Utah crashes has provided much of that data behind the "how" of a car accident. Every Utah crash reported from Jan. 1, 2013 and April 30, 2016 is on this map, which made us wonder, where are the worst intersections for crashes in the county?
These are the top 15 intersections with the most crashes in Utah County. Some of the data may appear inaccurate when compared to the current site, but it is mostly based on new data reported or clarified. To view the data, visit crashmapping.utah.gov.

#1     #1       #1      #1      #1  We are number 1   We are number 1  Such a distinction Such an honor

Lehi:  Timpanogos Highway and Interstate I 15
  Number of crashes:  678
Top factors:  24% night or dark, 23% failure to yield, 16% speeding

We are also  #2    #2     #2  Way to go Lehi, you are number 1 and 2, hooray for you

Lehi:  Main Street and Interstate I 15 Interchange
   Number of crashes:  575
Top Factors:  42% failure to yield, 32% teenage driver, 21% night or dark

Lehi engineers, DRC, planning commission and city council has a bright idea!

Time to add 4000 new employees to the area, a dozen or so new commercial office buildings and hey lets plan to develop more office buildings, what better place to build them then in a residential neighborhood.

WOW!  That is a great idea and in the process, lets not mess with those silly old development codes, they just get in the way of increased traffic, traffic accidents, more taxes for us, I mean progress.  I mean, our job is to protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Lehi and we have 1100 car crashes in two spots, are we great.

Just keep saying

Just keep building, just keep building, just keep building, just keep building.  The more we build, the safer our communities, that is right isn't it.  Car crashes - so what, every town has them. Besides, we like being #1 and #2, it shows we know what we are doing.

Here is another great idea.  Lets add another 550 employees and 500 - 1500 visitors to Family Search center right next to a residential neighborhood.  We will show those people we love and care about them. All that new traffic is good for them, protects their safety and besides, who wants a silly old driving range anyway.  A brand new shiny commercial office building is much better than green space. We love our new office buildings and we love traffic and we love not doing anything about improving the infrastructure so that traffic could improve.

Now Lehi residents, shhhhhhhhh, quiet, please do not disturb our building program.  We want to make sure we remain #1 for car crashes.  One way to ensure that is to bring more cars to an already congested area.

Just keep building, just keep building, just keep building, just keep building, just keep building.

Lets give a big round of applause to the LDS Church for they are the corporation who plans to build a gigantic commercial office building on a PGA Caliber golf course, yeah for you.

This is also a first, never been done before.  The LDS Church has the honor and distinction of taking a perfectly good PGA caliber golf course driving range and proposes to build a massive commercial office complex.

It is only a matter of time before the world knows what you are about to do. Good on you!
